UPCOMING EVENTS:

Anzac Day Ceremony performance for Senior Band and Choir students: Wednesday 26 April

Rehearsals for the Senior Band and Choir will be held at 9.00am in the auditorium on Wednesday 26 April. The Ceremony will commence at 12.10pm.

2017 Band Camp and Parent Concert: Thursday 27 April and Friday 28 April

For all Beginner Band, Beginner Strings, Chamber Group, Advanced Strings, Jazz Band, Junior Band and Senior Band students.

Please follow the link http://merici.college/go/usicamp to find the permission note for the 2017 Band Camp. Students are required to arrive at Merici on Thursday 27 April and meet in the Jubilee Centre 7.30am. Return to school Friday 28 April at approximately 3.00pm with afternoon tea and set up for concert to occur afterwards.

Parent Concert: 6.00pm in the auditorium, gold coin donation. This is a great opportunity for performance of pieces prior to the Eisteddfod.

Junior, Senior, Chamber and Strings- ANU School of Music, Llewellyn Hall, Saturday 25 May

BEGINNER STRING GROUP

 Would you like to learn violin or cello in a small group?

 Commitment:

  • Attend weekly group lessons on Monday lunch times in the Jubilee Centre
  • Regular practise recorded in a practise diary signed by parents each week
  • Attend performances during school time as required.

Cost:

  • Instrument hire ($150 per year)
  • Tuition book (about $20)

Future opportunities:

  • Take up individual lessons
  • Join Chamber Ensemble in Year 8 or Advanced String Ensemble in later years.
